Marine aquariums with LPS and SPS corals, snails or calcareous algae need regular additives of calcium and bicarbonate ions. A pump is used to pass the water enriched with carbon dioxide through the hardness granulate. The carbon dioxide reacts with water to produce carbon dioxide gas and dissolves the calcium carbonate. The hardened water exits the reactor back into the aquarium water.

Today’s generation of calcium reactors combine high efficiency and a compact size, consisting of reactor chambers with a pump.

For complete operational safety, we recommend the use of a CO² controller in the form of our IKS aquarium computer, TUNZE pH controller or any other compatible pH controller and a CO² cylinder and valve. The controller will control the in feed of CO² in accordance with the set point value entered.

Automatic calcium dispenser extension.
The Automatic Calcium Dispenser 3170 can be supplemented with a second reaction stage. A Comline housing is fitted with an additional granulate chamber. 
It increases the efficiency by about 20 per cent.
and neutralises the carbon dioxide at the outlet of the reactor. It increases the granulate volume and It permits a higher through put of water.
